Roy J. Harris Jr.


Roy Harris, a former Wall Street Journal reporter, is the author of Pulitzer's Gold: A Century of Public Service Journalism, published in an updated edition by Columbia University Press in 2016 for the Pulitzer Prize centennial celebration. After 23 years with the Journal, including six as Los Angeles deputy bureau chief, he worked from 1996 to 2009 as senior editor at The Economist Group’s CFO Magazine, and was founding editorial director in 2011 for CFOworld, an online corporate-finance site. Early in his career he reported for the Los Angeles Times and St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He contributes often to Poynter on the Pulitzer Prizes and other topics. He lives in Hingham, Massachusetts.
