It’s time to let Poynter help you jumpstart your management career.

Maybe you’re an inexperienced manager just starting your new role. Or maybe you’ve got a couple years of managerial experience but have had little leadership training. In either case, you could use some tools — along with a big dose of confidence.

This popular in-person workshop will help you build a strong foundation as a leader so your staff can engage and excel.

You’ll receive personalized feedback — from your newsroom — about your strengths and challenges. You’ll get help for leading your staff through periods of turmoil and uncertainty, as well as growth and opportunity. You’ll get customized advice for addressing your most pressing concerns during small-group coaching sessions with Poynter instructors.

“I really appreciated being affirmed in my experience by the facilitators and by the other participants. I came here really feeling fairly inadequate and left feeling extremely empowered…I also have so many tools and new perspectives that I can take back to my newsroom.”

— Madeline Holly-Carothers, Editor, Lifestyle, QCity Metro/Livin’ Charlotte, 2022 alum
