En Español

MediaWise en Español is a digital media literacy initiative for Spanish speakers in the United States. The educational programs teach older adults how to tell what is true and what is false on the internet so learners can safely connect with people and topics they care about the most. MediaWise ambassadors and international journalists José Díaz-Balart and Julio Vaqueiro lead learners through lessons in three formats: a 10-day WhatsApp course, an online course and a YouTube video series.

The daily 5-minute lessons on WhatsApp include simple, yet practical, fact-checking techniques. Participants answer a daily question to receive a lesson the next day. The online course builds on the success of How to Spot Misinformation Online, the highly effective MediaWise for Seniors resource. The YouTube series engages viewers to explore how to better navigate information online.
