Alexa Volland

Alexa Volland oversees the MediaWise Teen Fact-Checking Network and the Campus Correspondent project — both national, virtual newsrooms made up of students that produce fact-checks for social media. She specializes in mis- and disinformation, connecting with young audiences and social media storytelling. Before joining Poynter, she worked in local journalism at the Tampa Bay Times and as a journalism teacher in St. Petersburg, Florida.
