Kobe McCloud is a senior at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, double majoring in media and journalism and political science. Kobe is also a former GIS Intern for Development Monitors LLC. In this position, he conducted mapping of urban and residential buildings, geospatial analysis and risk assessment on the country of Yemen, specifically the capital Sana’a and the city of Ibb on behalf of the World Bank. He was also a former head of design at the Harvard University-based and Mozilla Foundation-backed single sign-on tech-startup company humanID. There, Kobe created raw aesthetics, iconography, videos, approve graphics, and other forms of multimedia content for the startup, while also researching domestic and international news about foreign policy, global affairs and cyber security— all in an effort to make the internet human again and combat nefarious activity online. He has a passion to help sustain democracies, bring the human side back to the internet, and combat mis- and disinformation. In his free time, he likes to watch movies, read, create content, play basketball and hang out with friends.
