Dr. Jo Huxster

Dr. Jo Huxster is a tenured Associate Professor of Environmental Studies at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL. She grew up in Pennsylvania and earned her Ph.D. from the University of Delaware in 2013. After postdoctoral research and teaching appointments at Drexel University and Bucknell University, she joined the Eckerd College faculty in 2017. Dr. Huxster researches public understanding and communication of ideologically entangled science, with a focus on climate change. She teaches courses in environmental communication, science communication, and climate change communication, and participates in various local and national conferences and events to foster effective communication beyond academia.
