Join us at the world’s largest and most impactful fact-checking summit

A small group of journalists from around the world gathered in London in 2014 with a shared passion for a different form of journalism that was sweeping the industry: fact-checking. In June, this growing group will come together for its 10th annual summit as a global network of fact-checking operations from 65 countries.

You’re invited to join fact-checkers and advocates for fact-based reporting at GlobalFact 10, June 28-30, 2023, in person at the Coex Center in Seoul, South Korea, and online at globalfact10.com

Hosted by the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) at the Poynter Institute in partnership with SNUFactCheck, GlobalFact 10 aims to mobilize the collective power of truth, transparency and accountability as a counteroffensive to the rash of misinformation that’s challenging citizens across the world.

For three bustling days, solution-oriented professionals will be immersed in an educational, multicultural experience that inspires collaboration and strengthens the universal information ecosystem.

Partners working to address global misinformation, including IFCN signatories, will gather to review industry trends, exchange the best practices of fact-checking, and explore opportunities to improve public discourse in democracies worldwide. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from the world’s top journalists, academics and fact-checkers during keynote presentations, breakout sessions and exclusive networking events.

More than 3,500 people have attended GlobalFact conferences since 2014. Past conference locations have included London, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Rome, Cape Town and Oslo. As the pandemic evolved during 2020 and 2021, thousands of people across 16 time zones attended the summit virtually. This year’s summit marks the 10th anniversary and our first community-wide gathering in Asia. Major projects and initiatives have originated at GlobalFact, including International Fact-Checking Day, IFCN’s Code of Principles and partnerships with major tech corporations.
